Curtain Up Classroom encourages
creativity in all contexts: professional, performance and academic. Director Dr. Maria Bakalis has been awarded certificates from Oxford
University, London's Royal Academy of Performing Arts, and
the Athens Center in Greece. Her theatre credits include
improv training as a cast member of Tony 'n' Tina's Wedding
in Chicago, along with acting credits including performances
at Next Theatre, Bailliwick, Stage Left, Murder Mystery
Workshops and Our Town Productions.
Combining both theatre experience as actor and
director and teaching experience as Communications and
Theatre Professor,
Maria
Bakalis is able to provide training with an
artistic touch. The Curtain Up Classroom faculty
and staff reflect a strong commitment
to creative approaches in
